Balabhadra Jaivik Chasa Mission (BJCM) – Easy Guide

The Balabhadra Jaivik Chasa Mission is a new scheme of the Odisha Government.
Its main aim is to promote organic farming in both agriculture and horticulture.

Main Features of the Scheme

1. Transition Incentive for Farmers

Farmers who shift to organic farming may face yield loss in the beginning.
To support them, the government will provide a transition incentive.
Budget: ₹44.92 crore.

2. Development of Organic Horticulture Clusters

Special clusters will be developed for organic fruits, vegetables, and other horticulture crops.
Budget: ₹21.06 crore.

3. Amruta Anna Initiative

This will promote organic rice production and ensure its use in the Shree Jagannath Temple kitchen.
Budget: ₹22.23 crore.

  • Training programs on organic farming methods.
